Thoughts and ideas on how to build tools, automate workflows and speed-up the workplace.
Atlassian’s Jira Service Management (JSM) is one of the biggest players in the ISTM space. With extensive customization and configuration on offer, Atlassian have managed to corner a huge portion of the market for IT service management software. However, JSM isn’t necessarily the right choice for every IT department. Rather, there are a few key areas where it shines. For instance, it’s highly integrated with the wider Atlassian ecosystem. Naturally, if you already have their project management, release management, or documentation tools embedded, this can be a real boon.

My name is Joe, and I have been building online forms for the last 10 years of my life. From my experience, I can conclude that the best open-source form builders make it quick and easy to create beautiful, functional, and accessible forms. Forms are a critical construct of the digital age.

API headers are central to how your request is received by the target server - and the response it produces. These can be used to provide extra context for our request, prove our permission to access resources, or for other important metadata. As such, knowing how to use request headers properly is a vital part of accessing external data via APIs. Today, we’re going to cover everything you need to know - from what API headers are, what they do, and how they work - to concrete real-world examples of how you can leverage them to build integrated solutions.

Hardware asset management is one of the central pillars of a successful ITSM strategy. Put simply, we can’t deliver effective services to users without first furnishing them with the right devices, environments, and infrastructure to do their jobs. However, with the exception of very small organizations, this can present enormous challenges. This has an outsize impact on operational efficiency, security, risk, and, ultimately, the cost of delivering IT services to users.

Claris FileMaker Pro is one of the oldest names in the low-code space. Claris is a subsidiary of Apple, so FileMaker was long thought of as essentially being a Microsoft Access alternative for Mac users. Today, the picture is quite a bit different. This is an important piece of context because it means that FileMaker started life as an integrated relational database engine and GUI. This remains a key part of its core offering, but it’s also evolved to include functionality around building custom interfaces and automations, as well as extensive capabilities for leveraging AI within app projects.
